Radon Air Systems
Radon Air System: Radon – a radioactive gas that cannot de seen smelled or tasted – has been found in home and other buildings throughout the United States. When radon gas escapes into open air it is harmless. However, when it seeps into living or working areas and accumulates, it becomes a deadly threat that increases the risk of lung cancer.
The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) estimates that one of every 15 homes has elevated radon levels. This figure varies greatly from state to state, with many states having 20 to 50% or more homes with elevated radon. The EPA suggests that every home and workplace be tested for airborne radon. The EPA recommends that airborne radon should be reduced when the level is 4.0 or more picocuries per liter (Pci/L) and that property owners should consider action if the level is 2 to 4 Pci/L.
